* This drop runs slightly smaller than our last Lights Out Black Corduroy “BEAMTEAM” v2 drop. Sizes recommended: 7 - 7 1/2. 7 1/2 - 7 5/8 head sizes may fit them but it will have a tighter fit.

DESIGN INSPIRATION

Front 3D Embroidery: “S” inspired by NorCal newspaper fonts with the iconic Kings crown that dates its first use back to 1971.

Side Patch Artwork: Despite not having any championship history in Sacramento, this current Kings roster is arguably the best team put together based on advanced statistics and will be a forced to be reckon with for years to come. For that reason, I put the focus on the NBA’s most popular meme from 2023- the kings iconic “LIGHT THE BEAM” chant. The graphic features the Golden 1 Center lighting it up as the team has finally found its cultural identity as the “BEAMTEAM” after many decades. 

Side Embroidery: "BEAMTEAM” font inspired by the modern logo with the crown used from 1995-2016.

Back Embroidery: Alternate NBA inspired "A5" logo in modern team colors.

CHRONICLE EDITION

Inspired by the rich history of California teams, this concept pays homage to Sacramento and its most iconic team. Just like a newspaper, these hats capture team history, cultural references, and classic color combos on that only a true fan or local could recognize. With the news paper print industry quickly dying, this concept is an ode to the once coveted front page cover that headlined our favorite sports/athletes and the publishers that created them.

Influenced by current headwear trends and a fresh take on vintage hats, each piece in this collection is constructed of premium thick corduroy and buttery suede for that retro, faded vibe. The overall hat frame is a custom designed 5-panel, mid-profile crown with a tapered, pre-curved brim that aims to provide a clean and timeless silhouette.
